The Mysore-Bangalore-Chennai Bullet Train project is picking up pace as land surveys are underway. The aerial survey is expected to start soon, according to media reports. A Hyderabad-based firm will conduct the satellite and land surveys. Once the surveys are completed, the firm will draft a detailed project report (DPR) for the proposed high-speed-rail-corridor. So far, the land survey from Chennai to Kolar has been completed.

This initiative is the sixth among six new high-speed rail corridors outlined by the Government of India in 2019. They commenced in December 2020, aiming to prepare a Detailed Project Report to initiate construction.
